We know prom can be stressful, between finding a date and finding the perfect dress, what is suppose to be the best night in your high school life can easily turn into a nightmare.

We have compiled a list of 5 things to help make your prom this year less stressful.

1. Set a budget, and stick to it

Figure out if you want a designer dress right from the beginning, if that is what you really want then you may want to reconsider doing your own hair or makeup. Knowing what you want to spend money on right from the beginning will help make the rest of the process less stressful.

2. Prepare ahead of time

Don’t leave everything till the week before your prom.  Start looking for your dress in February or March, that way you won’t be dissapointed with the dress selection and availability. Book your hair and makeup appointments as soon as you can as well.

3. Bring your undergarments to your dress fitting

Prom is like your wedding day in this sense. You want everything to be perfect and you want to look gorgeous. Bringing the undergarments that you will be wearing to prom will ensure your dress fits you perfectly.

4. Things to include in your purse

Make sure you keep bobby pins, deodorant and double sided tape close to you. If you don’t use them, your girlfriends might require them.

5. Shoes, shoes, shoes

Once you’ve found your dress you should look for your shoes. Prom is all about dancing the night away, you don’t want your gorgeous shoes to slow you down. Once you’ve found your favourite pair of shoes that match your dress, start wearing them inside so your feet can get used to them. Don’t forget to bring them to your dress fitting as well, especially if you’ve got a long dress, might still need a hem depending on the heel.
