Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life!

Even with all the planning you can do, sometimes things can go wrong, or you may simply over look one key item.

We have compiled a list of 10 things we think you should know before your wedding day.

1. Hair and Make-up trials

It’s your day, you should look flawless. One thing we think you should do for your special day is to get your make-up and hair professionaly done. You don’t want to be looking at your wedding pictures 10 years from now and thinking your hair or make-up looks awful. We do know it is an extra expense that some women tend stay away from, but if you plan for it early on in your budget you won’t reget it.

2. Give yourself more then enough time on your big day

No matter how hard you plan everything, things can happen where it may take longer then you planed. It’s best to plan for things to take longer, that way you won’t be frazzled on your big day. If you get ahead of schedule you can always get more pictures taken, or spend some time with your girls before you take the walk down the aisle.

3.  Something will go wrong

Again no matter how hard you plan, something can still go wrong. Don’t live in fear that something will go wrong, but just be prepared to roll with the punches.

4. Have a wedding day survival kit

You can Google “wedding day survival kit”, here is what we think are important;

Bottled water, Deodorant, Mints, Kleenex, Aspirin, Dental Floss, Sewing Kit, Bobby pins, Mirror, Band-Aids, Safety Pins, Lint Roller.

5. Hold your bouquet low

Yes it might feel weird holding it low, but it looks better then holding it up at your chest, plus you have a dress that has alot of detail on the chest area you want to show it off.

6. Walk down the Aisle slowly

This one is hard to do, but it is your big day, saviour the moment and enjoy everyone looking at you.

7. Have a receiving line

There are different views on this, but we think you should do it. It will take 20-30 minutes, depending on how many guests you have, and then you can enjoy your evening instead of guests coming up continuously throughout the night. This day will go by so fast and you want to enjoy every moment of it.

8. Book a spa appointment week before wedding

Yes we know another expense that you weren’t expecting. Wedding planning is stressful, you could make this a day or evening with your girls. Even if it’s just for a few hours and can sit back and relax.

9. Designate a bathroom buddy

At some point during your big day you will need to use the bathroom. Having a designated bathroom buddy will make it less stressful for when you desperatley need to go.

10. Go on your honeymoon immediatley

It’s nice to spend your first week as husband and wife away from home with no disturbances. Everything leading up to your wedding is stressful for you and your groom, so it would be a week of relaxing and enjoyment.
